Free website audit

Your website works. On your laptop, in your browser, on your connection, at least. What you do not see: the button that falls off-screen on mobile, the tracker firing before anyone accepts cookies, the form that does nothing in Safari. This audit looks at your site with different eyes and returns a graded report with an evidenced list of findings inside a minute.

Eight categories, one grade

The audit runs more than 35 checks across eight categories, each scored separately. The grade is a summary, but the value sits in the findings underneath it.

  • Functional — dead buttons, broken links, images that fail to load, JavaScript errors on load
  • Security — visible API keys, missing headers, clickjacking, public config files
  • Privacy — trackers before consent, non-essential cookies on a cold load, missing privacy policy
  • Accessibility — WCAG 2.2 A and AA: alt text, contrast, labels, focus indicators
  • Speed — load timings, layout shift, oversized bundles and unoptimised images
  • Usability — overflow on mobile, tap targets too small, unreadably small text
  • SEO — title, meta description, canonical, structured data, an accidental noindex
  • Design — inconsistent buttons, colours outside the palette, no print stylesheet

What the report looks like

Per finding you get what is wrong, why it matters, and the evidence: a DOM selector, a captured request or a screenshot. Next to it sits the standard or best practice the finding rests on — OWASP, WCAG, Core Web Vitals, privacy law, or the Nielsen Norman usability heuristics.

Findings are sorted by severity, so you can start at the top and have fixed something meaningful within half an hour. The report downloads as a PDF, which helps when you need to hand it to a developer or an agency.

What 'free' means here

The free tier scans one page and asks for no account and no card. You paste a URL, you get a report. That is the whole arrangement.

There are deeper tiers that crawl up to fifty pages and actually walk through forms, and those cost money because they take considerably more compute. But the free scan is not a stripped demo that leaves you with half a report to force your hand — you get every finding for the page that was scanned.

What to do with the outcome

Start with security and functional errors: those findings have the shortest path to real damage or lost revenue. A form that does not submit is costing you customers today. Accessibility and SEO pay off over a longer horizon, but are usually less work than people expect, because the cause tends to sit in a single component or template.

Run the audit again after you change something. The grade is then less an achievement than a feedback loop: you see immediately whether the change did what you thought it did.

Frequently asked questions

How long does an audit take?
About a minute for the free single-page scan. A crawl across multiple pages takes proportionally longer.
Do I need to install anything or add a script?
No. The audit works entirely from the outside on a public URL. You add no tag and grant no access.
Will my report be public?
No. Audit reports are not indexed by search engines. Anyone with the link can view the report, so share it only with who you intend to.
Can I audit a staging environment?
Only if it is publicly reachable. An environment behind a VPN or basic auth is not something we can get to.
